This sleek and understated media room showcases custom joinery that seamlessly connects the entertainment space with the cinema, creating a harmonious and inviting atmosphere. The continuity of warm timber finishes enhances the sense of cohesion, while the design remains both functional and visually refined.

Originally envisioned as a multi-purpose cinema and billiards room, the project evolved as the clients discovered new possibilities. To ensure optimal usability and sound control, Wavetrain Cinemas introduced a dividing wall, transforming what was once an open space into distinct yet complementary areas.

Wavetrain was responsible for the architectural and interior design, including acoustics, lighting, custom joinery, and material selection, as well as construction supervision and system calibration. The result is a space that serves as both a family retreat and an entertainment hub.

The clients now use the space as their private escape, enjoying weekly date nights with a game of billiards, a glass of wine, and a movie.

Although completed 10 years ago, the house was recently flooded; Wavetrain was reengaged to complete the restoration work with the homeowners insisting on its exact restoration—with a few modern upgrades. In the client’s own words – “We bought the house because of the cinema and want it put back exactly the same… with a few tweaks.” A testament to its success!
