Havana Rock

The client thoroughly enjoys movies, but his passion is watching concerts. Classic rock & heavy metal in particular. To meet his particular requirements, the cinema was designed to meet a higher SPL specification of 110dB peak playback. Wavetrain Cinemas was engaged to design the sound isolation, air-conditioning system, room acoustics, audio/video system and also develop the room interior design. We worked closely with the client and calibrated the cinema at the end of the project.

The cinema was allocated within the existing plans, but was resized slightly at our request, with the A/V equipment moved outside the cinema to what became the automation room for the entire home. This room has its own A/C split system to keep the equipment cool, as the projector hush box also vents to this room.
