Faultless engineering can’t be bought from a catalogue, it comes from years of learning the theory and putting it into practice. Our managing director and founder, David Moseley has devoted the last 20 years of his life to perfecting home cinemas and the proof is in the pudding.
This unique media room is designed for viewing multiple video sources.
The client wanted a seven-meter wide artwork wall where he could show screensavers loaded on his Apple TV. He also wanted to be able to watch movies on the same system. Initially he had looked a commercial screen as a solution, but it was too expensive…
This home cinema that had actually won a CEDIA Award many years ago, but over time, technological advances had all but made the room completely obsolete. For example: the room had no subwoofers — no low-end frequencies
Additionally, the space was to be used for both surround-sound movie viewing as well as two-channel (traditional stereo) listening. The client had upgraded the projector at some point, but the aspect ratios didn’t match the original screen: The client was viewing letterboxed movies. Sound treatments weren’t up to par, either, and absorption and diffusion need to be added…
This retrofit project that converted an existing double garage under the client’s house into a reference-quality, dedicated cinema. The space had to remain accessible from the street.
The owner also wanted to incorporate a couple of arcade machines into a separate bar area that was part of the project.
Wavetrain really took control here, designing and documenting all work for the project, including architectural drawings, interior design, HVAC and ventilation, acoustic engineering — everything…
We are proud to announce we’ve won 4 awards for 3 projects at the 2019 Asia Pacific CEDIA Awards. These include “Best Home Cinema Level I” for Phoenix, “Best Home Cinema Level III” and “Technology meets Design” for Arcadia and “Best Media Room” for Wonderwall.
We are excited to be named Finalist for 3 projects across multiple categories at this year’s CEDIA Awards. We put in much time, attention, and devotion to each project and we are proud to be acknowledged for this. The winners will be announced at the end of August.
We were particularly impressed this year by a challenging project delivered with great success… It combines two projection systems on the one screen – firstly a high-level 4K home cinema projector for the delivery of movies, but also a second system using a commercial projector fitted with a short-throw lens in order to achieve an image across the entire width and height of the room, to create an ‘art wall’, a full seven-metre-wide feature wall to show projected art.
No expense was spared crafting this entertainers’ home, which boasts a multi award-winning home cinema with state-of-the-art fittings and equipment, in a custom design by David Moseley, Director of Wavetrain Cinemas, known as the ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ Cinema.
